The 2021 JCI Mauritius Creative Young Entrepreneur Award

And it’s a wrap! 24 strong applications, a tough jury deliberation, an enormous job done by the CYEA team.

The 2021 JCI Mauritius Creative Young Entrepreneur Award (CYEA) aimed to recognise, celebrate and honour exceptional young entrepreneurs who are showing creativity or innovative problem-solving skills through their business. This year, JCI Beau-Bassin Rose-Hill has hosted an online conference to culminate the search for creative young entrepreneurs. The event was held online on 21st November 2021 and was divided into 4 parts starting with the Welcome Address, Entrepreneur Talks (Talk by Vimi Appadoo of Dale Carnegie Mauritius, Brain Dean of Brian and Wolf Holdings Ltd, Karen Ah Thien of Amplify Studio Ltd and Roshan Ramoly of
LinearArc Solutions Ltd) followed by Participant Introduction and ending with the Award Ceremony. If you have missed the event, the live video is still broadcasted on our Facebook page ‘2021 JCI Mauritius Creative Young Entrepreneur Award’.

The theme of this year’s edition was the #1 Young Entrepreneur Convention in Mauritius and follows from the JCI Vision that is ‘To be the leading Global Network of Young Active Citizens’.

The programme strives to promote and support local business creativity and innovation to solve sustainable development challenges amongst our young entrepreneurial leaders. This year, the award was based on the United Nations SDGs for Business framework.

Miss Lubna Isseljee, the Project Director for this year’s programme, firmly believes that recognition of young entrepreneurs is key in promoting local businesses.

Besides supporting entrepreneurship spirit among capable young businesspeople in Mauritius, she is confident that the event will bring the limelight on businesses that strive principally the following sustainable goals: to promote eco-friendly goods and services, especially local ones in line with the Madeinmoris project, to integrate sustainability into the core business and governance, and embedding sustainable development, to stabilise the post-covid market and economy by generating employment opportunities, and to enhance a comfortable living standard in a
flourishing Mauritius.

She would like to extend her gratitude to the jury members Mr Roshan Ramoly, Mrs Vimi Appadoo, Mr Bilal Sassa and Jury Chairperson Senator Nousrina Peerbux and sponsors LinearArc Solutions, Dale Carnegie, GWS Technologies and NeoRacoon and collaborators RG Sounds and Focus Events LTD.
